ABOUT ME

Jacques ROC directing and production work includes collaborations with Gerald Levert, Danny Glover, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, and Michael Jackson.

Jacques Roc began his career in the jingle industry at just 14 years old, composing his first piece of music for Trans-Caribbean Airlines. He later joined Lockhart & Pettus, a prominent New York advertising agency, as an Agency Producer. Concurrently, he founded Jacques Roc Productions, a company dedicated to producing radio and television commercials for major corporations in the United States and internationally. In addition to producing and directing, Jacques composed original jingles and musical scores for advertising campaigns.

Over the course of his career, Jacques Roc has directed and produced more than 180 television commercials and public service announcements for organizations including Pfizer, Chase, Chrysler, Carson Products, the New York City Department of Health, Tiger Balm, and Gaseteria. In 1995, a press release described him as a “triple threat,” recognizing his combined roles as director, producer, and composer on a television spot starring Gerald Levert.

MY BOOK

2025

MY CAREER

Visually Sound Films, LLC

Creative Director

I don’t approach creativity as decoration.

I approach it as meaning.

As a Creative Director, my work begins long before visuals, slogans, or formats. It begins with a question: What truth are we trying to express—and why does it matter now?

My background spans advertising, cinema, music, and literature. This multidisciplinary path has shaped a creative language rooted in narrative, emotional precision, and cultural awareness. I believe strong ideas don’t shout—

they resonate. They invite attention rather than demand it.

Having worked as an executive producer and creative director in major international environments, I understand both sides of the process: the fragility of ideas and the rigor required to bring them to life. Strategy and intuition are not

opposites—they are collaborators.

I specialize in:

● concept-driven storytelling

● brand narratives with cultural depth

● projects where ethics, aesthetics, and clarity must coexist

Whether the medium is film, music, advertising, or editorial content, my role is always the same: to protect the integrity of the idea while translating it into a form that speaks to real people—not abstractions, not targets.

Creativity, to me, is not about trends.

It’s about alignment—between intention, message, and impact.

I translate meaning into form—without losing the soul of the idea.

Executive Producer

I see production as an act of responsibility.

Being an Executive Producer is not about control—it’s about stewardship. It means creating the conditions in which ideas can survive reality: budgets, timelines, teams, and pressure.

My role has always been to protect the core of a project while navigating the practical demands that threaten to dilute it. I work at the intersection of vision and execution, where decisions have consequences not only on screen, but on people.

I bring together creatives, technicians, and institutions with a clear objective : coherence.

Coherence between ambition and feasibility.

Between artistic intent and production discipline.

Having led complex projects across advertising, film, and music, I understand that great work is rarely the result of excess—it is the result of precision, trust, and clear leadership.

A production succeeds when everyone involved feels the idea still belongs to them.

Film Director

I direct films the way one listens—to what is said, and to what remains unsaid.

My approach to directing is rooted in observation. I am drawn to silences, to gestures, to the invisible tensions that exist between characters and environments. Cinema, for me, is not spectacle—it is attention.

Coming from a background that includes writing, music, and visual arts, I approach film as a composed language where image, rhythm, and emotion must align. I avoid overstatement. I trust the intelligence of the audience.

I am particularly interested in stories where human complexity resists simplification—where morality is not binary, and where context matters as much as action.

Directing is not about imposing meaning.

It is about revealing it.

Jingle Writer

A jingle is not just a hook.

It’s a memory waiting to happen.

I write jingles as miniature narratives—simple, precise, and emotionally anchored.

Whether lasting three seconds or thirty, a jingle must feel inevitable, not forced.

My musical sensibility comes from years of composition, listening, and cultural immersion. I pay close attention to tone, cadence, and emotional color. A successful jingle does not interrupt—it integrates.

I believe the strongest commercial music respects the listener. It does not shout; it stays. It lingers long after the message has passed.

Music, even in its most functional form, deserves integrity.

Music Producer

I produce music with restraint, intention, and respect for space.

As a Music Producer, my priority is not accumulation but clarity. I focus on balance —between structure and spontaneity, between technology and human touch.

My work spans multiple genres and formats, but my philosophy remains constant : sound should serve emotion, not overwhelm it. I am attentive to silence as much as to notes, to texture as much as to melody.

Whether producing for film, advertising, or independent projects, I aim to preserve the authenticity of the artist’s voice while shaping a sound that is both timelessand grounded.

Music is not background.

It is architecture for feeling.
